Antony: A 'Rojiblanco' Dream on the Horizon?
Atlético de Madrid, a consolidated sports project under the baton of Diego Pablo Simeone, remains an attractive destination for many players. The team competes at the highest level and never fails to make its Champions League appearance, which generates interest among players from all over the world.
On this occasion, the name that resonates strongly is that of Brazilian winger Antony Dos Santos. According to the ‘Daily Mirror’, the Manchester United player, loaned to Betis, has aroused the interest of the ‘Rojiblanco’ club thanks to his outstanding performances.
During the current season, Antony has scored eight goals and provided four assists, including a great goal against Espanyol and a great performance in the Conference League semi-final.
Manchester United values Antony at more than 50 million euros, a figure that could represent the main obstacle to his arrival at the Metropolitano. This price could be beyond Atlético’s reach, especially considering that the winger position is not an absolute priority in the planning for next summer.
Interestingly, Antony already had an opportunity at Atlético de Madrid in 2012, although at that time he failed to pass the test. Now, years later, the club is once again considering his incorporation, demonstrating that talent always finds a second chance.
