Possible 'bombshell' match-ups in the Copa del Rey round of 16 draw
The round of 16 draw for the Copa del Rey will take place today at the Spanish Football Federation. The 16 surviving teams will be distributed in four pots according to their category.
The teams of lower category will face those of higher category and the matches will be played in a single game on the field of the lower category team. The round of 16 matches are scheduled for January 15, but will also be distributed between Tuesday and Thursday of that week.
VAR technology will be used in this next round. The quarterfinals will be played on February 5 and the semifinals on February 26 and April 2. The grand final will be played on April 26 in Seville.
