Atlético Dominates Betis at the Metropolitano
Atlético de Madrid gave their fans great joy by defeating Betis in a match where they demonstrated their offensive power. The match, played at the Metropolitano, saw a display of good football by the Colchoneros, who dominated much of the match.
Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini acknowledged Atlético’s superiority and lamented the ‘defensive licenses’ granted by his players. Pellegrini highlighted the difficulty of maintaining concentration in the league with the final on the horizon, admitting that victories by direct rivals such as Villarreal and Athletic may have affected his team’s motivation.
Despite the defeat, the Chilean coach is confident that this result will serve as a wake-up call to face the final with maximum concentration and determination. Pellegrini acknowledged that Betis did not play well in the first half hour and that he had to reactivate the team. He acknowledged that although the defeat is bad from a moral point of view, he hopes that it will make the team react from a mental point of view, to arrive well at the final that awaits them.
