Arsenal's Moves: Keys to Atlético's Transfer Market
With the season just over, Atlético de Madrid is already working intensely on planning the squad for the 2025-26 campaign. The names of Álex Baena and Cuti Romero figure as priority targets on the Rojiblancos’ agenda, but Arsenal’s decisions in the transfer market could be decisive for the future of the Colchoneros’ attack.
The English club is torn between Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyökeres to reinforce their attack, two players who also interest Atlético. Arsenal’s choice could influence the destination of these forwards.
Sesko, with a clause of 65 million euros (negotiable as his club is not playing in European competitions), presents himself as a more accessible option, while Gyökeres, with a value between 60 and 70 million, also arouses the interest of other big clubs such as Manchester United.

On the other hand, the possible return of Thomas Partey to the Metropolitano seems discarded, as Arsenal would be negotiating his renewal. Given this situation, Atlético is focusing its attention on Johnny Cardoso, from Real Betis, as the main candidate to reinforce the center of the field, an express request from Simeone. Negotiations for the American player will begin after the Conference League final.
