Azpilicueta, experience and security for Atlético

Despite having lost prominence on the pitch during his second season, his leadership in the dressing room has been key from day one. Given the difficulties encountered in that position and looking to strengthen it for the future, Atlético is turning to Azpilicueta to provide solidity to the left flank.
The experienced defender has not played since the Champions League match against RB Salzburg, but now he has an opportunity to establish himself in a position where the club is looking for long-term solutions.
