Atlético de Madrid advances to round of 16!
Atlético de Madrid has secured their place in the round of 16 of the Champions League after their victory in Salzburg. The team finished in fifth place in the group stage and will have the advantage of playing the second leg at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Atlético’s possible opponents are Manchester City, Celtic, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, who will have to play a preliminary playoff to determine the remaining eight teams that will complete the round of 16. The draw for the round of 16 matches will take place on February 21 and the competition bracket will be as follows: round of 16 on March 4/5 and 11/12, quarterfinals on April 8/9 and 15/16, semifinals on April 29/30 and May 6/7, and the final on May 31 in Munich.
