Oblak, Undisputed Legend: Sixth Zamora and Simeone's Recognition
Our Jan Oblak has done it again! The Slovenian goalkeeper virtually wins his sixth Zamora Trophy, a historic achievement that establishes him as one of the best goalkeepers in LaLiga history and surpasses the record he shared with legends like Ramallets and Valdés.
This milestone not only reflects his exceptional performance in the 24/25 season, where he played 36 matches and conceded 30 goals, with a coefficient of 0.83 goals conceded per game, but also his constant evolution between the posts at the Metropolitano.
Diego Pablo Simeone, our Cholo, did not hesitate to express his admiration for Oblak, highlighting his growth since his arrival at the club. Simeone emphasized that Jan is much more than a great goalkeeper; he is now a leader on and off the field.
According to the coach, Oblak has become a key figure in the dressing room, contributing his experience and personality to the team. This personal evolution, according to Simeone, is as important as his decisive saves.
Since his arrival in 2014, Oblak has been fundamental in Atlético’s successes, including La Liga (20/21), the Spanish Super Cup (2014), the Europa League (17/18), and the European Super Cup (2018). With more than 450 matches played and an average of 0.7 goals conceded per game, as well as more than 200 clean sheets, Oblak continues to write his name in gold letters in the club’s history. Congratulations, Jan!
