Atleti Steps on the Gas Towards the World Cup
Atlético de Madrid is intensifying its preparation for the Club World Cup, with its stellar debut on Sunday, June 15th, against PSG. Despite the absence of eleven international players, the team, under the guidance of Simeone and Luis Piñedo, is raising the pace of training at Cerro del Espino.
On Wednesday, the squad completed a double session, combining strength and gym in the morning with ball work in the afternoon. The evening session was marked by the absence of Barrios, who, after participating in the morning training, felt unwell.
It is expected that the youth player will rejoin the group work this Thursday. Koke and Griezmann lead the training sessions, seconded by Marcos Llorente, Riquelme, Lino, Witsel and company, with the aim of optimizing their performance.
There is a special motivation in Griezmann, aware of the attention he will receive before his possible arrival in the MLS. After the intense double session, the team has four more days of preparation before traveling to the United States on Tuesday. The coaching staff has scheduled training sessions for Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday, granting a day of rest on Saturday.
