Oblak: The Zamora and the Rojiblancos' Ambition
Jan Oblak has conquered his sixth Zamora trophy, surpassing legends like Valdés and Ramallets and solidifying himself as the most decorated goalkeeper in La Liga history.
In statements to the club’s website, Oblak shared his joy, highlighting that this achievement is the result of teamwork: “A goalkeeper alone cannot achieve it, and the team without a goalkeeper, neither”.
The Slovenian, always ambitious, prioritizes team titles over individual ones: “I prefer team titles to individual ones”. He recognizes the difficulty of the record and its possible future valuation, but his current focus is on continuing to win with Atleti: “While I’m here, I want to win everything.
That is my mentality”. Oblak also showed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Club World Cup, seeing it as an opportunity to lift a new title: “I face it with great enthusiasm, with great desire. It is a tournament where we can lift the title”.
He stated that the team will prepare thoroughly to arrive in the best shape. Finally, the goalkeeper had words of gratitude for the Rojiblancos fans: “Very grateful. It is a spectacular fan base. Atleti is lucky to have these people around who support them in good times and bad. This, for me, is the most special thing about this club”.
