Madrid's mayor hopes the Club World Cup trophy stays in the city
Madrid’s mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, received the FIFA Club World Cup trophy at the Palacio de Cibeles. The tournament will take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13 and will feature Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid.
Almeida, a well-known Atlético de Madrid fan, expressed his desire for the trophy to stay in the city and highlighted that Madrid is one of the three cities in the world with two or more teams in the Club World Cup. He also spoke about Madrid’s bid to host the international press center for the 2030 World Cup and the tournament’s final.
