Joel Robles follows in the footsteps of Casillas and Adán in Portugal
Joel Robles, former goalkeeper of Betis and Atlético de Madrid, is having a successful stint in Portugal’s Estoril. The Madrid-born 34-year-old has been key in several games, such as the 13th round against Sporting de Braga, where he prevented Bruma’s hat-trick and saved numerous attacks.
With Robles in goal, Estoril is 11th in the standings and remains far from the relegation zone. After his time in Saudi Arabia, the Spanish goalkeeper chose the Portuguese league as the epilogue to his career, just as Iker Casillas did at Porto and Antonio Adán recently at Sporting.
