Ancelotti anticipates an electrifying Champions League tie
Coach Carlo Ancelotti has warmed up the engines for the expected Madrid derby in the Champions League round of 16, highlighting the equality expected in the tie. In his appearance before the media, the Real Madrid coach recalled the great match against City and expressed his desire for his team to repeat a similar performance.
However, he stressed the difficulty of the match against a very competitive Atlético de Madrid. Ancelotti praised the current form of players like Griezmann, whom he considers one of the best in the world for his control of the game and precision in passing.
The Italian coach also highlighted Atlético’s ability to set up counterattacks, although he stated that he will not change his team’s style of play. Faced with absences in midfield, Ancelotti assessed the options of players who have rested, such as Asencio and Camavinga, without altering the team’s main idea.
Regarding Simeone, Ancelotti recalled a decisive goal he scored as a player and praised his work as coach of Atlético, highlighting his strategy, his reading of matches and the defensive commitment of his team.
