Alavés questions refereeing after match against Atlético de Madrid
Deportivo Alavés issued a statement expressing their ‘disagreement’ with the refereeing after the match against Atlético de Madrid, which ended with a 2-1 victory for the red and white team.
Although the Vitoria-based club recognizes and respects ‘deeply’ the work of the refereeing body, it considers that ‘in recent occasions, certain applied criteria have generated situations that have evidently affected the development of the matches, conditioning the final result’. Alavés has expressed its intention to convey this situation to the competent authorities to reflect and work on improving the protocols and available tools, including the application of VAR, with the aim of minimizing errors and ensuring a uniform criterion for all teams.
