Atlético de Madrid: A gesture of solidarity with the Peñas affected by the DANA
Atlético de Madrid showed its most human side by organizing a special meeting with the Atlético fan groups (Peñas) of Utiel, Quart de Poblet, Buñol and Centenario Paiporta, before the match against Valencia.
These Peñas, from areas hard hit by the DANA storm, received the affection and support of the club in a particularly difficult time. Robin Le Normand and Reinildo Mandava were in charge of sharing a moment with the fan group members, signing autographs and chatting with them.
These types of events are common for Atlético when traveling around Spain, seeking to connect with its most loyal fans. In addition, the club invited representatives of these Peñas to the box at the Metropolitano.
However, the Centenario Paiporta Peña preferred to stay at their local to enjoy the match with other fans, appreciating the club’s gesture and valuing the opportunity to celebrate the Atlético union in their space.
From the first moment, the employees of Atlético’s social area contacted the affected Peñas, offering support and help. The club made a significant donation of food and money to the town, and also collaborated directly with the Centenario Paiporta Peña to help them recover. The visit of Atlético to Valencia was, without a doubt, a special moment for these Peñas, a symbol of the club’s commitment to its people and an example of solidarity in the world of football.
