Atlético and Mahou: 60 Years of Shared Passion
Atlético de Madrid and Mahou celebrated the renewal of their historic sponsorship for ten more years at the Metropolitano, consolidating a relationship that spans over half a century.
Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, CEO of the club, thanked Mahou for their unconditional support over the years, even in the most difficult times when the club needed financing. He highlighted the shared vision of turning the stadium into a comprehensive leisure space for fans, offering much more than just football.
Enrique Cerezo, president of Atlético, emphasized that the alliance with Mahou transcends commercial matters, describing it as a friendship rooted in the club’s history. He recalled the times when Mahou was a neighbor of the Vicente Calderón and how the brewery always remained faithful to the red and white shield.
He emphasized that this new agreement seeks to improve the fan experience, allowing them to enjoy Mahou products at the stadium. Eduardo Petrossi, CEO of Mahou-San Miguel, expressed the deep bond that unites the brand with Atlético and the city of Madrid.
He recalled the beginnings of the relationship, when Mahou distributed its beer at club matches, and how they shared values such as courage, heart and perseverance. He emphasized that the extension of the agreement will allow Mahou to continue growing alongside Atlético and continue offering inspiring experiences to fans. The event concluded with a performance by the band Sidecars, who delighted those present with their music.
