Agüero: Messi Boosts Inter Miami at the Club World Cup
Sergio Agüero, former Argentinian player, has highlighted the importance of Inter Miami’s participation in the upcoming Club World Cup, driven by the presence of Leo Messi. According to Agüero, Messi’s mere presence generates an undeniable appeal for the global spectator.
‘We know Leo is there and that for the world, for the spectator, it was very important that Inter Miami was there, because today we know that Messi, although it may hurt some, is someone everyone wants to see,’ said Agüero in statements provided by FIFA.
The former striker anticipates a great spectacle watching Inter Miami compete, especially due to Messi’s presence. Inter Miami’s debut in the Club World Cup will be on June 14 against Al Ahly, being part of a competitive group with Porto, Palmeiras and Al Ahly.
Agüero is confident that Messi will give his best in this new challenge, driven by his aversion to defeat. ‘Leo in this new challenge will want to give his best because he will not like to lose anything,’ said Agüero.
Agüero also highlighted the constant danger that facing Messi represents, capable of changing a match in the last minutes. ‘When you have Leo on the rival team, even if Leo has 88 bad minutes, in those last two minutes he can make a play that you don’t expect, in the end he is the best player in the world and at any moment he can hurt you because he is number one,’ he stated. Furthermore, Agüero is confident that Atlético de Madrid will be a competitive rival in the Club World Cup.
