Torres: An Athletic Legend Extends His Legacy
Great news for the Red and White family! Fernando Torres, an undisputed legend of Atlético de Madrid, has renewed his contract until 2027, consolidating his commitment to the club. After a distinguished career as a player, he will now continue his work as a coach, leading Atlético de Madrid B.
This contract extension gives ‘El Niño’ Torres two more opportunities to seek promotion to the Second Division, an objective that narrowly escaped him in the recently concluded season.
In his first season in charge of the reserve team, Torres has demonstrated his ability to improve the team’s performance, culminating in a commendable seventh position with 54 points and fighting until the end for playoff spots.
Previously, at the helm of the Juvenil A, Torres achieved notable successes, including two Leagues, a Champions Cup and a historic qualification for the Final Four of the Youth League in the 2021/22 season.
