Atlético's Union: From Tragedy to Revival
The Centenario Paiporta fan club of Atlético de Madrid has risen from the ashes after the devastating flood that struck the town in October 2024.
The premises, completely destroyed by the DANA storm which caused numerous human losses, were rebuilt thanks to the solidarity of fan clubs from all over Spain, the International Union, the City Council, and the Atlético Foundation.
With the red and white heart as its engine, the members of the fan club, led by their president Andrés López, transformed adversity into an example of resilience. The expressions of support were countless, from raffles and draws to raise funds to emotional gestures such as the minute of silence that the club dedicated to the fan club.
Andrés, with the Atlético shirt as a symbol of hope, joined the cleaning and reconstruction tasks, feeling like a true superhero. Despite the invitation to the Metropolitano’s box, the fan club preferred to celebrate the reconstruction in their premises, the same one that is now presided over by an Atlético shield rescued from the mud.
A meeting place that has once again throbbed with the passion for the red and white colors, demonstrating that the Atlético spirit is forged in adversity and strengthened by unity and solidarity. The Centenario Paiporta fan club, an example of how Atlético plays every day, beyond the playing field.
