Silvia Lloris, the young promise of Atlético de Madrid
Silvia Lloris, a versatile and reliable defender, has earned a place in Atlético de Madrid despite her late incorporation after the U-20 World Cup with the Spanish national team. At just 20 years old, Lloris aspires to make the definitive leap in her career this season.
A regular in the lower categories of the Spanish national team, with whom she has been world champion U-20 and twice European U-19, she was called up for the first time by Montse Tomé in April 2024. Lloris has shown that she is a fierce, intelligent, decisive and good ball-handling defender.
In Atlético, she has played in different positions, giving the surprise last Sunday by starting as a left-back. Lloris has accumulated 833 minutes played in 13 games, nine of them as a starter, in addition to scoring another goal. Injured by the streak of just two wins in the last eight games of Atlético, the Murcian has spoken to the media: ‘There is still a lot of league left, thank you to the fans for coming today, we have to keep working to improve’.
