Atlético de Madrid says goodbye to Andrea Berta after nearly 12 years
Atlético de Madrid announced on January 5 the end of its contractual relationship with Andrea Berta, the club’s sporting director since 2013. During his time at the club, the team signed top players such as Jan Oblak, José María Giménez, Antoine Griezmann, Rodri Hernández and Ángel Correa.
With his work at the club, they won two La Liga titles, three Europa League titles, three European Super Cups, one Spanish Super Cup and one Copa del Rey. However, in recent months there was a restructuring of the Atlético management, with the arrival of Óscar Mayo and Carlos Bucero in key positions, which reduced the importance of Berta’s role. The club thanked Berta for his effort, commitment and dedication during these 11 years and wished him the best in his new professional stage.
