Griezmann: A New Role at Atlético
Antoine Griezmann, a key figure for Atlético de Madrid, is facing an unexpected change in his role within the team. After a season as a fundamental pillar, with 3,331 minutes played, the Frenchman could start his second consecutive game as a substitute, something unusual since September 2022.
This situation contrasts with his usual status as an undisputed starter, where, as they say, Atleti has always been Griezmann and ten more. This tactical decision comes after a run of ten games without goals or assists from the player, showing a reduction in his offensive influence.
His last goal was on February 25th. Despite having been a substitute on few occasions during the season, such as against Mallorca or Rayo, these rotations mainly responded to the management of physical loads. However, the recent substitutions mark a turning point.
