Barrios secured: Atlético ensures future until 2030!
Great news for the Atlético family! Pablo Barrios, a gem from our youth academy, has renewed his contract with Atlético de Madrid until 2030. At just 21 years old, this talented midfielder has already played 101 games defending our colors, proving to be a key player in Cholo Simeone’s system.
His commitment and dedication are an example to everyone. Barrios arrived at La Academia in the 2017-2018 season and since his debut in October 2022 against Cádiz, he has grown in leaps and bounds. He also had his dream debut in the Champions League against Porto.
This season, with 40 games played, he has established himself in the midfield alongside Rodrigo de Paul, showing impressive physicality and vision. His excellent performance has not gone unnoticed, and Barrios has had the honor of debuting with the Spanish National Team, celebrating a victory against Switzerland. In addition, he conquered the gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games! This renewal is a clear commitment to young talent and a further step to ensure a bright future for our Atleti.
