Gil Marín calls for changes to combat violence at the Metropolitano
Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, CEO of Atlético de Madrid, has called for legislative changes to use biometric data, fingerprints or facial recognition in the access control of the Metropolitano stadium. This would allow for a more effective fight against violence and xenophobia in the stadium.
This season, the club has expelled nine members for acts classified as very serious in the club’s internal regulations. Gil Marín has highlighted that the club is working to eradicate any act of violence or xenophobia in the stadium and has reminded that the club suffers a huge reputational damage due to these acts.
