The derby between Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid at the Metropolitano, corresponding to the return leg of the Champions League round of 16, was experienced with high intensity even before kickoff.
Hundreds of Real Madrid ultras, escorted by the National Police, caused incidents while trying to access the stadium. The field security, in their control work, faced resistance from a group of approximately 250 Ultras Sur, some of them without tickets, which generated moments of tension and the throwing of objects.
The police responded with charges to control the situation. Given the possibility of clashes, the authorities urged fans and press to seek refuge in nearby premises.
Despite these incidents, around 4,000 Real Madrid fans were present in the stands to support their team, demonstrating the passion and rivalry that characterizes this classic of Spanish football. The atmosphere in the Metropolitano, although tense at times, reflected the importance of the match and the fervor of both fan bases.
