Tension at Atlético: Supporters' Union Warns of Possible Retaliation
The International Union of Atlético de Madrid Supporters’ Clubs, led by Eduardo Fernández Robleda, has expressed concern about possible retaliation from the club. This tension arises from the complaint that some Atlético groups plan to impose on UEFA for the alleged manipulation of the video of Julián Álvarez’s penalty.
The club responded to the request from the Supporters’ Union, along with other groups, regarding the video of Julián Álvarez’s penalty, indicating that the matter would be discussed at the next Social Commission on June 9.
Fernández Robleda, in an opinion article published in the magazine ‘El Anfiteatro’, expressed his fear of retaliation for the Union’s critical stance regarding UEFA, the price of season tickets, and LaLiga schedules.
According to his statements, there have been persistent rumors about possible actions against him or the Union he presides over. Despite these warnings, the president of the Supporters’ Union reaffirms his commitment to continue fighting for the interests of the Atlético fans.
Among the issues that concern the fan base are the increase in the price of season tickets, LaLiga match schedules (especially those set for Children’s Day), and the support given to fans to travel to competitions such as the Club World Cup. The Social Commission on June 9 is presented as a key scenario to address these tensions and seek solutions for the benefit of the fans and the club.
