New Boost for the Rojiblanca Academy: Focus on the B Team
Atlético de Madrid is preparing an ambitious restructuring in its Academy, with the primary goal of propelling the Rojiblanco B team towards the Second Division. This restructuring involves a new organization where Atlético B will have independent management from the rest of the youth academy.
Julio de Marco will assume the position of specific head of the B team, working closely with Fernando Torres to maximize the team’s potential. Atlético C, along with Juvenil A, will report to Severiano García, Technical Secretary.
The club will seek to provide Fernando Torres with all the necessary tools for the sporting success of the B team. One of the key measures is to move Atlético B’s operations center to the Alcalá de Henares Sports City, including matches.
This change will not affect the first team, as Simeone has shown sensitivity by not calling up players from the B team during the week so that they are available for Torres. It is expected that the arrival of Julio de Marco will boost the creation of a competitive squad.
Although departures are expected, the idea is to strengthen with signings that guarantee promotion to professional football. The Metropolitano dreams of seeing the B team in the Second Division, and this restructuring is a fundamental step to achieve it. The academy, the heart of Atleti, receives a new boost.
