Atletico players did not vote for Vinicius in The Best awards
Atletico Madrid players Jan Oblak, Josema Gimenez and Alvaro Morata did not include Vinicius Junior in their votes for The Best awards of the 2023-24 season. Oblak, captain of Slovenia, voted for Rodrigo Hernandez, Dani Carvajal and Toni Kroos.
Gimenez, captain of Uruguay, voted for Fede Valverde, Rodrigo Hernandez and Erling Haaland. Morata, former Atletico player, voted for Dani Carvajal, Rodrigo Hernandez and Lamine Yamal. Vinicius Junior won the The Best award, which rewards the best player of the season and has criteria similar to the Ballon d’Or.
