Real Madrid back in the race for La Liga
After the 0-4 Clásico, Barcelona seemed to have La Liga in their hands. However, in the last three games, Real Madrid have cut eight points from Flick’s team and, with a pending game against Valencia, the reigning champions depend on themselves to regain the lead.
Atlético have also taken advantage of the situation to rejoin the fight for La Liga with victories against Las Palmas, Mallorca, Alavés and Valladolid. Real Madrid have turned the predictions around and are now the favourites to win La Liga, with a probability of 55.5%. The immediate calendar is more demanding for Ancelotti’s team, but they also have the wild card of a Barcelona-Atleti on 21 December in which at least one of their direct rivals will drop points.
