Atlético Resumes Training with Eyes on Club World Cup
Atlético de Madrid has returned to training after a short break, with its sights set on the upcoming Club World Cup. The session, led by the coaching staff in the justified absence of Diego Simeone, featured a large presence of youth players to make up for the absences of the internationals.
Players such as Kostis, Niño and Javi Serrano participated in the session at Cerro del Espino. Good news for Simeone, who will be able to count on Clément Lenglet and Juan Musso for the Club World Cup, dispelling doubts about their participation due to their contractual situations.
The club is managing the necessary procedures to ensure Lenglet’s presence, either as part of the loan agreement with Barcelona or, ideally, as a definitive signing. In the case of Musso, there is no problem whatsoever.
In addition, the board is working to have Horatiu Moldovan, currently on loan at Sassuolo, join the team for the world cup event. This situation could involve taking four goalkeepers or the non-renewal of Antonio Gomis.
Negotiations are affected by Moldovan’s participation with the Romanian national team in FIFA date matches. Atlético is preparing with enthusiasm to face this new challenge, consolidating its squad and betting on the youth academy.
