Barrios, KO Against Osasuna: Doubtful for Betis
Atlético de Madrid held their breath in their recent match against Osasuna. Pablo Barrios had to leave the field early in the second half after an accidental collision with Marcos Llorente in the opponent’s area.
The head injury caused great concern among his teammates and the coaching staff, who quickly requested medical assistance. Despite the initial scare, Barrios managed to leave the field on his own, although visibly dazed.
Simeone showed his concern for the young player’s condition on the bench. Given the seriousness with which LaLiga addresses head trauma, the protocol indicates that a player substituted for this reason cannot be called up in the six days following the incident.
This means that, in principle, Barrios will miss the important clash against Real Betis at the Metropolitano. The club will await the player’s progress and explore all possible options to have him available, although the regulations seem clear on the matter. Undoubtedly, a sensitive loss for the Rojiblanco midfield, but the player’s health comes first.
