Atlético's frustration with VAR in penalty decisions
Atlético Madrid does not understand the VAR in penalty decisions. In a game against Sevilla, a play was allowed to continue where Gallagher suffered a blow from Álvaro that would have meant a tie before halftime.
In comparison, a similar play with Vinicius and Rui Silva of Betis was reviewed by the VAR and a penalty was awarded. This season, Atlético has shown an offensive version, but has only taken one penalty, converted by Griezmann against Alavés. Despite coming back against Sevilla, the penalty spot remains in the minds of the mattress makers.
