Atlético Madrid come back to win in the Youth Copa del Rey
Atlético Madrid’s youth team defeated Valladolid (2-1) in Alcalá de Henares in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey of División de Honor. The match was expected to be even between the first and third of Group 5 of the category.
Valladolid took the lead in the 12th minute thanks to a play that left Murcia alone against Álvaro Moreno. In the 24th minute, Sergio Esteban equalized the match with a low and strong shot. With that result, the first half ended.
After the break, both teams tried to control the match without taking too many risks. Everything changed after the hour of play when there was a penalty in favor of Valladolid. There, Álvaro Moreno emerged with a great save against Raúl to prevent the 1-2.
The match would change even more when in the 79th minute Valladolid was left with one less player due to Murcia’s expulsion for a double yellow card.
