Who can overtake Atlético in the Champions League?
Atlético de Madrid are currently third in their group in the Champions League after coming back to beat Bayer Leverkusen. Only Liverpool and Barcelona are ahead of them. However, there are several teams that could overtake the red and whites this Wednesday.
Arsenal, who play at home against Dinamo Zagreb, could overtake them if they win. Inter, who play against Sparta Prague, could also overtake them. Stade Brestois, who play against Shakhtar Donetsk, could also overtake them.
Bayern Munich, who play against Feyenoord in Rotterdam, would equal Atlético’s points and overtake them on goal difference. Milan, who host Girona, could also equal them on points if they win and overtake them if they win by more than three goals. If all five teams win, and Milan do so by the required goal difference, Atlético de Madrid would face the final round in eighth place in the standings.
