Scare in Girona: Atleti's Match Interrupted
A new incident in the stands forced the match between Girona and our Atleti to be stopped, this time due to a possible heatstroke suffered by a fan. The event occurred a few minutes before the end of the first half, forcing referee Gil Manzano to stop the match shortly after the hydration break.
The high temperatures, with 26 degrees and a thermal sensation of 28, added to the intense sun, may have been the cause of the physical problems of the fan.
Interestingly, this stoppage adds to the one that occurred last matchday at the Metropolitano during the match against Real Sociedad, where a fan also needed medical assistance, stopping the game for more than ten minutes.
Fortunately, on this occasion in Girona, the match resumed quickly and the affected fan was apparently fine. We hope that these types of incidents become less and less frequent and that we can enjoy each match with the passion and dedication that characterize our fans, always supporting our Atleti in every match.
