Atlético: Julián for Lino, Simeone's Formula?
Atlético de Madrid is fine-tuning its preparation for the crucial match against Osasuna. In the training session, Cholo Simeone rehearsed a lineup with a single variation from the starting eleven of the last match at the Metropolitano: Julián Alvarez replacing Samu Lino.
After serving a suspension for accumulation of yellow cards, Julián Alvarez returns to the starting team, occupying a key position in the rojiblanco attack. However, the Argentine’s return implies that Antoine Griezmann, one of the team’s references, will wait for his opportunity from the bench.
Sorloth, after his outstanding performance, remains in the eleven. The inclusion of Julián Alvarez reconfigures the midfield, with Rodrigo de Paul moving to the left wing, Koke maintaining his role in the center, and Barrios acting as a right interior.
Giuliano will continue to deploy on the right wing. In this way, the possible starting eleven that Simeone tested would consist of Oblak in goal; Llorente, Giménez, Le Normand, and Galán in defense; Giuliano, Barrios, Koke, and De Paul in midfield; and Julián Alvarez and Sorloth in attack.
Julián Alvarez is expected to play a bit more to the left, just behind Sorloth. The team will hold a final training session before traveling to Pamplona, where Osasuna awaits them with European aspirations.
