Cerezo: Passion for Cinema and Red and White Commitment
Enrique Cerezo, president of Atlético de Madrid, has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Spanish Film Academy, a recognition of his outstanding career as a producer, distributor and key figure in Spanish cinema.
Cerezo, owner of an impressive film catalog, compares players to movie stars, highlighting the similarities between both worlds. In an atmosphere of celebration and good humor, Cerezo answered questions about the future of the club.
When asked about FC Barcelona’s interest in Julián Alvarez, Cerezo was blunt: “Julián is an Atlético player and is delighted at Atlético. I believe he is and will be our player”. In addition, Cerezo hinted at the possibility that Lenglet, on loan from the Barça club, will continue at the Metropolitano.
The Atlético president, visibly moved and grateful for the tribute, highlighted his work in adapting Spanish cinema to the 21st century, through the digitization and restoration of classics. Cerezo celebrated the connection between football and cinema, two of his great passions, reaffirming his commitment to Atlético and the development of Spanish cinema.
