Simeone recruits two academy players due to Lenglet and Galán's absences
Atlético Madrid began preparing for Saturday’s match against Villarreal at the Metropolitano after resting on Wednesday following their victory over Bayer Leverkusen. The team was divided into two groups, with the starters from the previous match working in the gym and the substitutes facing academy players in a small-sided game.
The absences were those of Sorloth and Javi Galán, who had to stay in the gym. Galán will be unavailable to face Villarreal due to accumulated yellow cards, as will Clement Lenglet. For this reason, Diego Simeone recruited two players from Atlético Madrid B for this training session: central defender Ilias Kostis and left-back Pablo Pérez. Both could be included in the squad list that will be announced on Friday afternoon.
