Vitolo: From the Metropolitano to the Mountain
Víctor Machín ‘Vitolo’, that talented player who defended our colors, has found a new passion after his retirement from professional football in 2024. Injuries prevented him from shining as a ‘rojiblanco’, and after his time at the club, as well as other teams such as Las Palmas or Getafe, he decided to hang up his boots.
But his sporting spirit remains intact, and now he demonstrates it on two wheels. The former Atleti player has launched into the world of Mountain Biking, recently participating in the Transgrancanaria Bike, one of the most demanding races in the Canary Islands.
Vitolo has shown a great adaptation to this new discipline, evidenced by his remarkable physical change and his enthusiasm in each stage. “I never thought I would like this sport so much, but it’s addictive from the first pedal stroke,” Vitolo shared on his social networks, reflecting his enthusiasm for this adventure.
He participated in two of the stages of the Transgrancanaria Bike, facing challenges such as the ascent to the Ayagaures ravine. His dedication and effort are an example of overcoming obstacles and a demonstration that, although his career in football has ended, his passion for sport remains alive. From Atleti, we wish Vitolo all the success in this new stage, celebrating his competitive spirit and his love for sport.
