Atlético de Madrid: The team of comebacks
Atlético de Madrid of the 24/25 season could change their classic ‘game by game’ to ‘comeback by comeback’. Simeone’s team have achieved eight comebacks in 31 games, representing 25% of the matches.
The most notable comebacks were against Leipzig (2-1), PSG (1-2) and Leverkusen (2-1) in Champions; Leganés (3-1), Alavés (2-1), Sevilla (4-3) and Barça (1-2) in LaLiga; and against Cacereño (1-3) in Copa. In addition, many of these goals have been scored in the last minutes of the game, leading Atlético to be known as the king of comebacks.
