Obando: Atlético secures the future with Ecuadorian talent
Atlético de Madrid continues to bet on young talent and has added Allen Obando, a promising 18-year-old Ecuadorian striker, from Barcelona Sporting Club of Ecuador. The operation, one of the most significant in the history of the Ecuadorian club, was closed for 2.3 million euros, with Atlético acquiring 80% of the player’s rights.
The South American club will retain the remaining 20%, which would allow them to benefit from a future sale. Obando, considered one of the greatest promises of Ecuadorian football, has already debuted with his national team and has shown his goalscoring ability in the youth categories.
His international projection has aroused the interest of several European clubs, but it was Atlético who anticipated to secure his signing. Currently, the young striker plays on loan at Inter Miami in MLS, where Atlético will closely monitor his evolution.
The Rojiblanco club will evaluate his performance in the American league to determine if he has the potential to make the leap to LaLiga and join the first team. With this operation, Atlético demonstrates its vision for the future and its ability to detect and attract emerging talent, consolidating itself as a club that bets on young promises.
