Atlético de Madrid scores a goal against epilepsy
The Atlético de Madrid Foundation, together with Carla Pereyra, have joined the campaign ‘Plays to score a #GoalAgainstEpilepsy’, an initiative to raise awareness about epilepsy, a disease that affects thousands of people in Spain.
The campaign, in collaboration with the Spanish Epilepsy Federation (FEDE), the Spanish Epilepsy Society (SEEP) and UCB Pharma, uses football as a metaphor to highlight the importance of teamwork in the fight against this disease.
Carla Pereyra, ambassador of the Atlético Foundation, has conveyed a message of support and collaboration, emphasizing that progress in the fight against epilepsy, as in football, requires a joint strategy and a shared commitment.
Pereyra emphasizes the importance of collaboration and mutual support to overcome the challenges presented by epilepsy. ‘In football, as in epilepsy, it’s not a one-person game, it’s a game for everyone,’ she said.
Elvira Vacas, president of FEDE, encourages the promotion of this type of project and assures that only by working in alliance with institutions, companies and civil society can the present of people living with epilepsy be transformed. The campaign seeks to break down stigmas, improve information and promote scientific research for better treatments and diagnoses, driving real change in society.
