Atleti Femenino: Passion, Recognition and Red and White Legacy
The Metropolitano was dressed up for the third edition of ‘Atleti en Femenino’, a red and white event dedicated to sport and women. The day began with a panel discussion on the culture of the stands, moderated by journalist Patricia Cazón, with the participation of prominent representatives of Atlético fan clubs.
Paloma del Río received the Rubén Caravaca Award, a recognition of her work in promoting values such as rebellion, collaboration and love for sport. The gala also featured the presence of Jero García and Miriam Gutiérrez, who shared their story of overcoming adversity and fighting against violence.
The highlight was the presentation of the Almudena Grandes Award to Amanda Sampedro, a legend of the club. The former Atleti captain, who joined the club at just nine years old and made her debut in the first team at 15, is a symbol of red and white commitment and passion.
María Vargas, sports director of Atlético Femenino, was in charge of presenting the award to an emotional Amanda, who recalled her beginnings at the club and the unconditional support of her family.
‘Being with the people of Atleti is being with family,’ said Amanda, highlighting the values that the club has instilled in her throughout her career. A well-deserved tribute to a figure who has left an indelible mark on the history of Atleti Femenino.
