Atlético face Getafe in Copa del Rey quarter-finals
Atlético Madrid will face Getafe in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey. Simeone’s men will be looking to repeat their semi-final appearance from last season, where they defeated Real Madrid and Sevilla at the Metropolitano.
To reach this stage, the red-and-whites have overcome Vic, Cacereño, Marbella and Elche. Atlético have their sights set on a trophy they haven’t won since 2013, when they defeated Madrid in the historic final at the Bernabéu. Getafe is the first top-flight opponent the Atlético will face on their way to the Copa del Rey final, and it will be the last single-match encounter before the semi-finals are played over two legs.
