Late Kick-Off Angers Fans on Children's Day
Atlético de Madrid fans have expressed their outrage at the scheduled kick-off time for the match against Real Sociedad, set for Saturday, May 10th at 9:00 PM.
The Unión de Peñas (Supporters’ Union) has raised its voice on behalf of the Rojiblancos fans, considering this schedule inappropriate as it coincides with Children’s Day, a special date for young fans.
The match, which will end at 11:00 PM, is too late for children who are usually asleep at that time, even on a Saturday. Fans believe that the schedule undermines the celebration and enjoyment of the little ones on a day designed for them.
The Unión de Peñas has described the League’s decision as a boycott and criticizes the prioritization of business over the well-being of future fans. Despite the discontent, the club has shown a proactive attitude, adapting to the circumstances and extending the recreational activities throughout the day to compensate for the late kick-off time. Younger fans will be able to enjoy photos with Indi, inflatables, slides and human foosball tables, ensuring that the Children’s Day celebration remains a memorable experience for the Atlético family.
