Atlético Eyes Reinforcements at Getafe
Atlético de Madrid, always attentive to the market, has two Getafe players on its radar to strengthen the squad for next season. The club plans to make several strategic signings, combining costly options with more accessible ones, to shore up all lines of the team.
Among the latter, the names of Omar Alderete and Mauro Arambarri stand out, two players who interest the sports management of Atlético. Alderete, a 28-year-old Paraguayan central defender, is an attractive option to strengthen the defense.
The player knows LaLiga perfectly and his left-footed profile is highly valued by Simeone. Although Cuti Romero is the first option for the defense, Atlético is looking for another central defender, and Alderete fits that profile.
Getafe would be willing to negotiate his transfer if an interesting offer arrives. On the other hand, Mauro Arambarri, a 29-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, is an old acquaintance of Atlético. The club has shown interest in him on several occasions, although without reaching an agreement.
Arambarri is having a great season, being the top scorer for his team in LaLiga. With a contract until 2028, he could be a ’low cost’ option to reinforce the midfield, as long as there is some departure. The main idea is to sign an important player for that area, where Barrios is the only one who has guaranteed continuity.
