Atlético raises its voice: Stop the referee harassment!
Atlético de Madrid has expressed its firm stance against what it considers a pressure campaign exerted by Real Madrid and its entourage on referees, especially on the eve of the Copa del Rey final.
The Rojiblancos’ reaction comes after the press conference of the referees appointed for the match and the subsequent controversy generated by a statement from the White club criticizing the referees’ words.
Faced with the possibility, even, that Real Madrid was considering not playing the final, Atlético has raised its voice to defend the integrity of Spanish football.
With a forceful message on their social networks, the Rojiblancos club denounces the systematic harassment to which referees are subjected from the official Real Madrid channel, both before and after each match.
Atlético considers this situation “unbearable” and demands a ceasefire in the smear campaign that, in their opinion, damages the image of the sport. With this message, Atlético clearly positions itself against referee pressure, in defense of cleanliness and fairness in Spanish football. The club joins the growing concern about the influence that certain media exert on refereeing decisions and reaffirms its commitment to a clean and fair game for all teams.
