Atlético Waiting: Possible Postponement to Start LaLiga
Attention, Rojiblancos fans! The planning for the next league season is underway, and there’s news that could affect the start of our Atleti. Due to the remodeling of the Club World Cup, there is a possibility that the start of LaLiga 2025-2026 will be altered for us and Real Madrid.
LaLiga and AFE are finalizing details, and consideration has been given to postponing one or two matchdays if both clubs reach the final rounds of the Club World Cup, scheduled for the summer.
The initial idea was to start on August 15, but participation in this international tournament could complicate the players’ preseason, who need at least 21 days of rest after a demanding season.
The AFE union seeks to ensure that, in the event of postponement, recovery dates are enabled that allow adequate rest between matches. The intention is to avoid the overload of matches that has so affected teams this season, with the aim of protecting the health of our players and ensuring their maximum performance.
