Historic! Red and White Hat-trick at MICFootball 2025
What a morning for the Red and White youth academy! Atlético de Madrid has achieved a memorable performance at MICFootball 2025, winning titles in the U14, U15, and U16 categories. A milestone that will be etched in the tournament’s history and confirms the excellent work being done in the club’s youth ranks.
The first title came from the U14s, who overcame Andorra with a resounding 2-0 victory. Sangare Kalilou and Adrián Díaz were the goalscorers in a match where, even with one player less, the team showed character and solidity.
The U15s, led by Borja Resurrección, our Koke’s brother, also lifted the trophy after defeating Real Sociedad. A goal from Grigorrii Alexandru was enough to secure the win, thanks to a rock-solid defense that kept a clean sheet throughout the tournament.
Impressive! To top off the achievement, the U16s beat FC Barcelona in an exciting final decided by a penalty shootout. After Alejandro Cabrera’s opening goal and the culé team’s penalty equalizer, the match was a high-voltage duel that was resolved thanks to the cold blood of our players from the penalty spot. Beyond the titles, Atleti left a great impression in all categories, showing solid play, collective commitment, and a competitive spirit that makes the fans proud.
