Metropolitano hosts the presentation of MADCUP 2025

The Metropolitano was the chosen stage for the presentation of the fifth edition of MADCUP 2025, a prestigious youth football tournament that counts on the Atlético de Madrid Academy as an official collaborator.

The competition, which has established itself as a benchmark in youth football since its inception in 2021, will have its nerve center at the Alcalá de Henares Sports Center.

The 2024 tournament brought together nearly 800 national and international teams, including several formations from the Rojiblanca youth academy, covering categories from youth to pre-Benjamin.

Enrique Cerezo, president of the club, expressed his satisfaction for Atlético de Madrid’s continued support of MADCUP: ‘MADCUP was born as a project with ambition and a vision for the future, and today it is an indisputable reality: it is the largest and best federated grassroots football tournament in the world’.

Cerezo highlighted the importance of MADCUP as a comprehensive experience, encompassing sports, cultural and values ​​aspects. The Metropolitano will play a key role in MADCUP 2025, as the stadium will host the teams’ parade and the tournament celebration party on Monday, June 23. The presentation of the event was attended by Andrea Medina, player of Atlético de Madrid Femenino, and Lola Romero, director of women’s football at the club, reaffirming Atlético de Madrid’s commitment to the development of youth football and the promotion of sports values.
